Hawkhaven Irish Wolfhounds

Rachel started her showing career a few days before her 5th birthday whilst attending the BC Branch of the Irish Wolfhound Club of Canada's Regional specialty.  After watching handlers showing in the ring she assured everyone that she could do it.  So in a pair of grubby jogging pants and sweat shirt she entered 'Pee Wees' with Ch. Heathview Dantessa, obtained first in her class and a handler was born.  After a short while of showing her Bassett hound 'Gummi' in the all breed ring, as soon as she got old enough Rachel retired Gummi and started showing a Wolfhound.  Rachel's empathy with these giant hounds shows in her gentle touch.

Every litter that is born at Hawkhaven, she has been present sitting with the females head in her lap and attending the new born puppies.  When Rachel was young her favourite TV program was Dora the Explorer and on her 17th birthday Rachel was presented with her first very own Wolfhound.... who else but Dora..  Rachel has retired from the show world for a short time whilst attending University.
